In the Footsteps of My Father Fund

John Wesley Gebb came to the Klondike in 1908 and while here worked for the Guggenheim’s and one of the Kings of the Klondike Big Alex MacDonald.  By July 1909, he was on his way to Alaska.  His time in the Yukon was brief but his legacy lives on.

In the Footsteps of My Father was written by J.W. Gebb’s son Sheldon and is drawn from his father’s diaries.  Sheldon and Barbara Gebb have pledged 100% of the proceeds from this book to the Dawson City Museum.

To date, this fund has provided much needed equipment for the library and archival collections and is now being used to enhance the archival collections online.  Thanks to the In the Footsteps of My Father Fund, in 2013, the Museum was able to double the number of photographs online and to begin providing fonds descriptions.

The Dawson City Museum is indebted to Sheldon and Barbara Gebb and their family and friends.  If you would like to purchase a book, please contact the Museum.
